How to automate the Journal

Determining the purpose of trips directly from the vehicle

With a little extra effort, when installing the GPS device in the vehicle, it is possible install a switch to specify the purpose of the trip (either business or private).  The position of the switch at the end of the trip will allow SeeMe to enter the purpose of the trip into the journal. One less thing to worry about.

Determining the purpose of trips according to working hours

If a vehicle has been assigned a specific working time (e.g. from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays), it will be possible to make a respective adjustment in the vehicle settings. From then on, all trips taking place within those hours will be automatically entered in the journal as business trips. Description of business tripsUsers may be required to submit an extract from the SeeMe driving journal to, for example, the Tax Board, to describe the purpose of a business trip. Each vehicle could be assigned a default trip type (e.g. ‘visiting a customer’ or ‘maintenance work’). Automated journal entries would include this specification by default and so it would be possible to solve a number of routine tasks. Consequently, before submitting the driving journal, only special cases would require attention.

Automated entry by destination

Each journal entry has a tick box called "Remember". Ticking that box and saving the journal entry will allow SeeMe to automatically enter into the journal all future trips that end at the same location with the same specifications. This is convenient when frequent visits are made to the same client, using the same vehicle, or performing similar work at the same location. The description (‘Maintenance work for client X’ for example) needs to be entered only once and the trip marked as a business trip. SeeMe will remember these settings. Once again, this saves time.
